This has been a really great book!
I love the concept and the creators working on them.
The first story here is called “Deadline” and it is written by Jesse J. Holland and drawn by the illustrious Laura Braga.
The story is decent and it shows the balance between Clark’s reporting duties and his Superman ones. The art by Braga is especially good and it is a great first story of the book.
Michel Fiffe writes and illustrates the next story in this book. It is such a treat.
Fiffe has such a way about what he does that it is almost indescribable. It is a fun story that is seems simple but that is deceptive. There is a lot going on in each moment and I just loved this.
Writer Brandon Thomas and artist Berat Pekmezci have the next story in this book and it is kind of a let down. Superman is wounded and it shows how even the most common man can make a difference. It takes place at a television station and it is kind of boring.
Next up, we have writer Nick Spencer and artist Christian Ward. Together, they create one of the best Superman stories in the book. Seriously, it is great and it shows Superman go up against a new kind of enemy and the results from that.
Finally, James Stokoe writes and draws an excellent short story to finish up the issue. We get to see Superman in space going to investigate a star. It is really damn cool to see what happens. This story is well done and well illustrated and was the perfect last story until next month.
