This series has really been something else. I really am enjoying this take on the Superman mythos mixed together with the Authority team. It is a rousing good time from start to finish thus far and I truly can’t get enough of it.
We get to see that Superman has put the Authority back together again.
The real question though is why did he do that?
There has to be a clear cut reason. Yet, Superman isn’t offering any. As the issue goes on this question is explored to its full extent.
There is a threat for the team to fight against, however. The Ultra Humanite is here and he is looking to make mince meat out of humanity. The team jumps into action! We get to watch them fight this villain and it is a pretty great fight.
The questions that Superman has about the team’s humanity come into play here. We get to see a lot of things come to a head. We get to see a lot of pain and a lot of loss.
This issue sets up the conclusion that is coming next issue in a very good way.
The story here is very good. Grant Morrison writes a strong script and it is really works well. The art by Mikel Janin is the best that he has done so far in his career.
Overall, this is a great book and I am enjoying it very much indeed.
