This book has been a whole ton better since Supergirl returned from outer space.
The book was losing a lot of focus. I also don’t enjoy that she just seems to get Superman’s scraps in terms of storyline.
However, this issue is pretty good and is another chapter of the Leviathan saga as a whole.
The issue begins with a powered up Brainiac doing Brainiac type things. We get a few pages of that.
Then, we see Supergirl hugging Jeremiah. They are reunited and it is a happy moment.
They have moment and things are looking up for the two of them and Krypto.
But the positivity doesn’t last long, however just as soon as they are reunited they are quickly attacked by Leviathan and his gang. A huge fight sequence erupts! Leviathan wants Supergirl to join him! It starts to get out of control!
Supergirl powers up to a new suit! She and Jeremiah eventually turn the tide! Leviathan exits with his servant. And that was a bit of a problem for me. They just show up and fight and leave. It was a bit quick so it felt thrown in.
By the end of the issue, Supergirl finds Kelex all tied up. That is when she is ambushed by Brainiac (I think). That is when the book ends on that sudden cliffhanger. But I am okay with that.
The story is pretty okay this go round and it almost feels like editorial dictated the Leviathan crossover. Hey, it happens. The art by Pansica is only getting better. He elevates the title a bit with his art and it makes the book better as a whole.
