SULLIVAN’S SLUGGERS Goes From Kickstarter To Movies

Sullivan’s Sluggers, an upcoming graphic novel by Mark Andrew Smith and James Stokoe and financed through Kickstarter, might be headed to the silver screen.

Smith, co-creator of Gladstone’s School for World Conquerors, the New Brighton Archeological Society, the anthology Popgun, and the Amazing Joy Buzzards  and Stokoe the amazing creator of Orc Stain recently launched the project and made it available exclusively via Kickstarter, meeting it’s $6,000 goal within hours (it’s currently almost at $50,000 with 16 days to go).

The premise of the book was posted by Smith on Kickstarter:

Long past their former glory, the
minor league Sluggers get an invitation to play a baseball game in a cursed
small town. After the 7th inning stretch, the sun goes down, and the
dysfunctional teammates find themselves fighting for their lives against a town
of flesh-eating monsters!

Now, it’s up to coach Casey Sullivan to help his team
escape from being the next dish in the town’s terrifying feeding frenzy!

Now, THR reports that Broken Road Production’s Todd Garner has teamed up with Terra Firma Films’ Adam Herz and Joshua Shader to produce an adaptation to be written by Tom and Tim Mullen.
