‘Suicide Squad: Get Joker! #2’ (review)

Written by Brian Azzarello
Art by Alex Maleev
Published by DC Comics

This is a very good book from the Black Label line over at DC Comics.

The writing and artwork both are very good and this is how the Suicide Squad should be done. It is a brutal and darkly humorous tale we have here.

The Joker has turned the tide against the Suicide Squad last issue. None of them saw it coming and they are now reeling from their confrontation with him.

This leaves the team in an usual circumstance and they have a lot to contend with.

You see, the Joker now has control of the trigger that will make each of the Suicide Squad members heads explode. Their heads could explode at any time.

This means that the Joker is in charge of them for the time being. He decides to take full advantage of that.

In the meantime, a new Squad has formed to take them down. We get to see this happen and it is delightfully nuts. The whole thing leads to a big confrontation at the end and it is pretty horrific and crazy. It is also damn entertaining.

Brian Azzarello writes one heck of an inventive script. It is fun and crazy and it has some great dialogue. The art by Alex Maleev. Is amongst his best.

Overall, this is another excellent issue of a really great limited series event!

RATING: A
