This book has been a highly entertaining run thus far.
Writer Tom Taylor has really found his footing with these characters finally and the whole thing is clicking. It has been a really nice time. I hope he can keep up with what he is doing as it has been a fun time.
This book starts us off in Gotham City.
Chaos Kitten is getting a strange operation. The person performing it is very mysterious. She is mad because he has no anesthetic.
Just what the hell is going on here?
Turns out, she is getting her “Task Force X implant” taken out. Things spiral gleefully out of control after that.
We get to see that the Suicide Squad is standing outside the “operating room.” They all appear to have had the same surgery done. That means, that they all no longer have the implant.
It also means that they are mad as hell and they are going after the people who have been pulling their strings this whole time.
They start to form a plan. Unfortunately, they are in Gotham City so, of course, the Batman isn’t too far away.
The Squad goes up against him and it is pretty good! The fight scenes here are especially great and rousing. I love what is happening with these characters and their development.
Tom Taylor really is breathing life into this title with a great premise and some decent writing. Bruce Redondo is a fantastic artist and is doing awesome work here as well.
This is a solid issue and I love where the creative team is taking us.
