‘Strange Adventures #9’ (review)

Written by Tom King
Art by Mitch Gerads and Evan Shaner
Published by DC Comics

With this issue, we are launching into the final third of this series.

This is yet another excellent and well thought out chapter for this book. Honestly, I never really enjoyed Adam Strange all that much until this series came along. Now I cannot get enough of the character!

This issue is about all out war!

There is a massive battle happening and Adam Strange has to do his best to stop it. An alien race called the Pykkts are attacking the earth and they are looking to destroy everything. So, Adam Strange comes along to save the day!

Yet, a truth of sorts starts to come to light. It is starting to appear that Adam Strange’s victory on Rann may have been a bit exaggerated.

Well, more than a bit. We start to see that his story may be full of holes. If so, what does it mean for the people of earth?

This is when Alanna Strange comes into the picture. Apparently, she is out to set the record straight! But can she do it on time? Or are things going to go really badly for earth, and by extension, the universe?

The story ends up going places I did not expect!

That is because there is an expert creative team on this book. Tom King does a great job writing this as usual. The artwork by Gerads and Shaner never fails to impress either.

This has been a great journey thus far. It has been one of the better mini-series DC has put out in recent years as well.

RATING: A
