‘Stillwater by Zdarsky & Pérez #8’ (review)

Written by Chip Zdarksy
Art by Ramon K. Perez
Published by Image Comics

This book continues it’s crazy storytelling with this issue.

I am loving what the creative team has come up with with each new story that they put forth and this has been pretty excellent.

This issue has a unique twist to it and I liked it very much indeed.

Last issue focused more on the town of Stillwater dealing with the effects of one of the incidents that happened there.

Daniel and his mom were forced to run out of town. This issue however focuses on the sheriff, and what she has to do in the aftermath of the recent events.

So Sheriff Tanya takes a drive out of the town.

We see that she has a task. Since nobody can actually be hurt in the town of Stillwater, this is the only way that Tanya can get rid of a dead body. We get to see the procedure behind that.

It is a very focused issue that is very intense.

The script does veer off into some interesting directions. By the end, we get to learn a whole lot about Tanya’s struggles. We also see something bigger coming to the town because of everything that has been happening.

Zdarksy does an incredible job with writing this script as always. It is wonderful and macabre. The art by Ramon K. Perez is some of the best in the business.

Overall, this is a pretty great issue, and I love where the story is headed.

RATING: A
