‘Snow Angels #4’ (review)

Written by Jeff Lemire
Art by Jock
Published by ComiXology

The first three issues of this comic book series were quite exciting.

The creative team really created an irresistible world full of adventure and thought.

Then, they decided to turn that entire world onto it’s head at the end of last issue.

We found out at the end of last issue that The Trench isn’t endless. That affects the story going into this issue.

Throughout the course of this issue, we learn that the family (Millie, Mae Mae, and their father), aren’t the only one to figure out this bit of news.

The family is also on the run from the Snowman who is hunting them.

While they have been on the run, the young girls start to realize more and more that their father has been lying to them. In this issue, it really starts to affect the family dynamic.

We get to see the family go up against The Snowman.

This issue has a resolution that effectively ends Book One of this enterprise.

A nice and focused world has been created and where we go from here is anyone’s guess.

Jeff Lemire writes an incredibly tight script here that flows with emotion. It is great and things really moved. Jock is one of the best artists in the field and proves that again here.

Overall, this is another excellent issue  that gives us a nice ending for the first part of this story.

RATING: A
