‘Second Coming: Only Begotten Son #5’ (review)

Written by Mark Russell

Man, this is the comic book series that just keeps on giving.

The creative team really has been doing an excellent job on this title and every issue is just awesome. I can’t believe just how well done it is. It it truly something special.

Jesus is at a crossroads in this issue. A lot has happened and he is trying to catch up with it all. But this time it may prove to be harder than normal.

You see, one of this disciples has died and it has now sent Jesus reeling.

This makes him question a lot of things in his existence.  He asks himself some of the really hard questions and he is now trying to figure out where to take things from here.

It isn’t very easy but he is trying to find a path.

From there, we get to see Sunstar unsure of what to do with his powers. So he does the only thing that he can think of. He polls the public and tries to have them tell him just what he should do. The results are actually pretty disastrous.

The story by Mark Russell is pretty great. The script really moves and it has some of the best dialogue around. The artwork and storytelling by Richard Pace is pretty great. Overall, I am enjoying this second series and it is as well done as the first!

RATING: A
