This comic book moves fast.
Kevin “Savage” Sauvage made good on his disillusionment, giving up the hero life and going hermit in a spare-no-expense desert island that replicates his life in the Faraway dimension well enough.
Wouldn’t you, too, if your brother’s always trying to bleed you dry from money-making enterprises, and a cohort of mad scientists wants to harvest his organs?
Kevin spends his days hunting and killing a bunch of animals with his bare hands, though not without getting some new scars.
That’s how we meet Kevin in this issue, catching some rays by lying out on a panther skin, surrounded by his stone blades and a little lime in the coconut.
Project Bizarre is still out there, still up to no good, surely. Kevin don’t care right now. He sure does come to wish Mae were on the island with him, in a scene inspired by Cast Away.
Meanwhile, the kaiju have returned all around the world, and they interrupt Kevin’s vacation by smashing apart his idyll. How dare they?
We also catch up with Mae the flesh-and-blood human being. She uncovers even more madness from the mad scientist who claims her as his daughter, along with whatever his next scheme will require.
I mean, what’s not to love about a freckly redhead in a jumpsuit, bayonet and goggles, armed with multiple giant guns and ready to hop onto a winged T-rex?
As Kevin gets pulled back into the hero life, will he also find a way to put down these monsters and defeat Professor Nealon for good?
The final page of our issue says that’s going to be a much heavier lift. Wait’ll Kevin sees who has joined up with the Professor?
Battle lines are being drawn, and it’s gonna keep heating up.
