WETA is providing the effects for the upcoming franchise prequel, Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes.
I read the script about a year ago and thought it was pretty entertaining and it does tie into the original film (at least that draft did), with mentions of Astronaut Taylor (Charlton Heston from the original POTA). The story deals with the evolution of the apes’ intelligence, the result of an experimental drug created for Alzheimer’s patients to overcome brain processing issues.
Although the trailer doesn’t show much, the effects are pretty damned impressive.
That Andy Serkis is something else!
