Remembering David Bowie: A Look Back at Early TV Appearances

On January 10, David Bowie left the world as he came in: on a comet filled with glittery spiders playing flashing guitars followed by rock n’ roll goblins. He was a visionary that transcended any genre, who scoffed at any label, and who defied any tradition.

He never peaked, but always rose to the occasion.

In honor of the Thin White Duke, here is a small look back at the digital footprint he left behind on the small screen, a smattering of early television appearances throughout the years that left a last impression and helped build on the legend.


1960s: Early ice cream ad featuring Bowie as random hip rocker who loves ice cream! Blink and you’ll miss him:
