Writer Scott Lobdell has been taking this book into an interesting direction. I never would have thought that he would take the book and turn it into what it has become.
But it is excellent and unexpected and I love reading it month to month. This a damn fine comic.
The opening of this book shows an airline stewardess getting off work. She is promptly attacked by a strange person who is clearly evil. She turns into a makeshift superhero and kills him.
I have no idea what the hell was happening or why, but at that point, this book had my full and undivided attention.
From there, we get to see Jason and Bizarro getting something to eat at a food truck.
They talk a bit and catch up. It is nice to experience some bonding time between the two characters. Lobdell does a nice job with their scenes.
Artemis meanwhile goes up against the stewardess from the first scene. They have a confrontation. Jason and Bizarro are then drawn into the events going on.
It is really well paced.
The ending leaves us off on a cliffhanger. All of the elements are in place. Everything is primed. Now it seems like a big fight will erupt. And I can’t wait to see what happens.
This is another fine issue in a really great and consistent series.
