If you haven’t heard of Locke & Key yet, you will soon.
First, the series has just been nominated for four Eisner Awards (in the comic industry, it’s like the equivalent of an Oscar or Grammy nomination) including Best Single Issue, Best Writer (Joe Hill), Best Artist (Gabriel Rodriguez), and Best Continuing Series.
Second, there’s a pretty good chance that you’ll be able to see Locke & Key on television this fall. Fox has ordered a pilot developed by Josh Friedman (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) and Executive Produced by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (Fringe, Star Trek, Cowboys and Aliens) and Steven Spielberg and starring Nick Stahl, Jesse McCartney, Mark Pellegrino, Miranda Otto and Sarah Bolger.
As for it’s premise? Locke & Key tells of Keyhouse, an unlikely New England mansion, with fantastic doors that transform all who dare to walk through them…. and home to a hate-filled and relentless creature that will not rest until it forces open the most terrible door of them all…
After the jump read the Eisner nominated Best Single Issue, entitled “Sparrow”.
As a new arc begins, Bode Locke discovers a key that unlocks the world of tooth, fang, claw, and feather, in a story that leaves hundreds dead! Hundreds of birds, that is. No. Seriously.
