Written and Illustrated by James Stokoe
Published by Dark Horse Comics
James Stokoe is one of the most interesting comic book creators out there. His artwork is unlike anything in modern comic books. It is hyper-detailed and also full of crazy energy. You can’t help but smile when he is doing a new comic. I personally have to pick up anything he does, like this new comic book here.
At the beginning of this book, we are introduced to the character of Orphan Mo.
Orphan Mo’s master is dying.
He listens to his master’s dying words and takes them to heart. He must become a warrior and do something great for the world.
Apparently, there are five different disciples of his now deceased master out there in the world. These disciples are causing havoc.
They all have demonic power that they are using for nefarious reasons. The people of the land are suffering from these disciples and something must be done.
Orphan Mo must gather his wits to go up against these disciples. We get to see him start on the path of doing just that! The whole thing is outlandish and fun and sets up just enough to keep you wanting more. Honestly, it’s great.
Stokoe has as much fun writing this comic as he has drawing it. It is over the top for sure but who cares? It’s so much fun that I could not put it down. This issue is a great start to the series and I love the direction we are headed. This comic has a cool story with some amazing artwork and I loved it.
