This issue has a really amazing first page. It’s beautifully drawn and I just love the storytelling of it. The writing is nice and tight in this and it shows the motivations of Mother Panic. It also sets the scene for the rest of the issue.
Jody Houser’s words and Ibrahim Moustafa’s images work so well in tandem. It’s a great solid read.
Mother Panic is hired for a job. This job may in fact be her last.
The Gotham City Sirens want Mother Panic to defeat Jason Todd. Jason has gone mad and he must be put down like the dog he is. The build up to the big confrontation is exciting. We see Mother Panic plot and plan. We see her go to a club gathering information and when it’s time? She strikes!
“Lord Robin” as he is called, is a formidable threat! She struggles to take him down. It eventually leads to a hell of a surprising last scene. I don’t want to spoil it. But I assure you, you will say “what the hell is that?”
It’s a shame this series is ending. Ibrahim Moustafa’s art has really brought his title to life. It’s gorgeous to look at and is totally original. Houser has found the perfect artist to be matched with. This is a really great penultimate issue. I can’t wait to see how it all wraps up.
