‘Man-Bat #4’ (review)

This miniseries plods along with this new issue.

Honestly, this has been something of a chore to read this book. The story is just completely dull and the artwork feels like it is totally wrong for this character. I  really can’t wait for this to be over at this point.

Batman makes an appearance in this issue.

He is out to stop Man-Bat and bring peace to Gotham. So, we finally get to see Batman track Kirk Langstrom down. The way Batman goes about this is fairly standard and boring.

But then, the cliches start to pile on up.

Batman finally finds Langstrom.

The Scarecrow, however, has seemingly found him first. You just know that the Scarecrow’s fear toxin is going to be released!

But the Scarecrow is seemingly after more than just that:

Crane wants the serum!

That’s right, the Scarecrow wants the secret to making monsters!

So we get to see Batman fighting two foes essentially. This all leads to one of the most standard and boring endings in recent years.

The story is rough. I was hoping for more out of this series yet it constantly disappoints. The art also doesn’t match the story too well.

All in all, this series is just a disappointment. It just feels recycled and not in a good way.

RATING: D+
