Kaya Scodelario Frontrunner For PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES

Written by Christopher M

Deadline has word that British actress Kaya Scodelario in early talks for the female lead in Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Kaya is known for roles in Maze Runner, the UK series Skins and Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials.

The film will be directed by the duo of Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg, who recently directed the first two episodes of Netflix’s Marco Polo.

Johnny Depp will be returning, the rest of the cast includes Javier Bardem (Skyfall, No Country For Old Men), Geoffrey Rush and possibly Orlando Bloom. There are rumblings Bloom could be returning and might end-up taking over the franchise.

Aussie actor Brenton Thwaites (Maleficent, Son of A Gun, Gods of Egypt) is also a new addition to the franchise.

I don’t think I’ve been this excited for a Pirates film since Dead Man’s Chest.
