It’s The HEROES WORLD 1977 Superhero Shop Catalog

Long before the internet made shopping easy, kids everywhere would anxiously covet toy catalogs.

There was always the Sear’s Wish Book which provided a good look at everything, but for superhero loving children, there was the elusive and extraordinary The Superhero Shop Catalog, the official buying guide for Heroes World, a New Jersey based retailer specializing in all things wearing capes and tights.

One of the things that made this catalog so amazing was that it didn’t utilize photographs.  The catalogs were drawn by the students at the Joe Kubert School (and included such talents as Rick Veitch, Steve Bissette and Mr. Kubert himself).

After the jump check out the 1977 catalog which is unique in itself as it was the last catalog not to feature merchandise from the upcoming Memorial Day release, Star Wars.

How would you spend twenty five dollars?  Please plan your shopping accordingly…
