‘Infinite Frontier #5’ (review)

This series has picked up in the last few issues. Yet, it is still not as exciting as I wanted it to be. I have liked it enough though to keep on reading. This is a pretty good issue and it continues the story at a pretty rapid pace.

This issue focuses on Roy Harper. It shows us a lot of where he has been in his life. There has been a lot that Roy had to contend with on his own. That being said, there is only one person who he could honestly count on and that is himself.

With that, we get to see Roy go out to face the bigger threat out there. To do so, he has to contend with the fact that he can’t tell anyone that he is back from the dead. Roy has a scene with Jace and it is very moving to read with all of this background behind it all.

We get to see Darkseid really moving in on his plans. We get to see how the heroes plan to contend with it all. The big conclusion is being set up. It is only a matter of time before the whole thing comes to it’s concluding act.

So the stage is set for the ending. It was a little boring with how we got to this place.

Joshua Williamson did the best job he could I feel but there isn’t a lot that makes this a classic story. I feel that this will just end up having very little impact on the DC Comics line as a whole.

RATING: B
