‘Happy Hour #6’ (review)

Written by Peter Milligan

This comic series is absolutely wonderful.

The creative team has done an excellent job putting this together and it really pays off here.

This issue is the culmination of everything that has come before and it is really just perfect. I enjoyed how it all comes together.

Jerry and Kim have endured terrible punishments to get rid of the fake happiness that was put into them as this issue begins.

We get to see how that affects the characters and where that leaves them. They are trying to get away from everyone, including the pro misery cell that they find themselves part of.

Is there a happy ending for these two? Or is there something undefinable coming their way?

This last issue explores many of the themes that come out from those questions. It also focuses heavily on the main characters.

What do Jerry and Kim want out of life?

From that, what do they want out of this life together?

Will they stay together? Or will they chose misery?

We get to see the decisions and the results by the end of this book.

Peter Milligan writes an amazing book here . It is very pointed and the themes resonate. Michael Montenat does a great job drawing this book as well. The storytelling is crisp and clear.

I absolutely loved this series as a whole and this is a pretty fantastic last issue.

RATING: A
