It is good to see Green Arrow getting a little love!
It has been a long time since we have had a good helping of the character and this is pretty good.
Writer Marino Tamaki opens up the book with Javier Rodriguez on art. They tell us a story about Green Arrow going up against the Disappearing Man. It is a great start to the book.
From there, we have writer Tom Taylor and artist Nicola Scott on a story about fighting evil. It is well done and I wish they would take over a Green Arrow book.
Then, we get a story written by Stephanie Phillips and drawn by Chris Mooneyham that shows us a different aspect of Oliver Queen’s character.
Mike Grell writes and draws a story that serves as a coda for his work on the character.
Writer Ram V. and artist Christopher Mitten do a great job with their short story that is pretty well done.
Writer Brandon Thomas and artist Jorge Corona do an okay job with their story, which is a tad weak storywise but has decent art.
Devin Grayson and Max Fiumara have an okay short story next. Phil Hester writes and draws a decent, and memorable short. Vita Ayala writes a good story for the awesome Laura Braga to draw.
We also get two of the best creative teams Green Arrow had give us their codas to their runs. That is writer Benjamin Percy and artist Otto Schmidt and writer Jeff Lemire and artist Andrea Sorrentino. Both stories are top notch.
The last story is written by Larry O’Neil (Denny’s son) and drawn by Jorge Fornes. It is the best story in the book, and that is saying something. This is a great anniversary issue, one of the best DC has ever put out.
Highly recommended for sure and packed with entertainment value throughout!
