I am loving the direction that this book has taken.
Writer John Ridley is truly fulfilling the promise of the concept of this comic with the script. It is highly entertaining and really gives us a unique look at this superhero universe.
The opening of this book has the new Batman surrounded and in trouble. He has caught two murderers but he might have to give them up.
The Magistrate’s team has it out for him and they have the upper hand at this time.
It isn’t long thought before the Batman fights back!
It is a truly awesome action sequence and I was on the edge of my seat.
Batman fights against the tide to bring these two murderers to justice.
It is pretty awesome to see him try to get them to the Gotham City Police Department. The end of the story here gives us one hell of a cliffhanger too that left me wanting the next issue immediately.
There are two forgettable backup stories in this book too by two other creative teams. One features the Outsiders and one features Astrid Arkham. Both feel like inventory stories and don’t do much for me personally.
The main story though is great. I have to single out artist Laura Braga here again. She has a fresh take and her art here is really just awesome. I would love to see her delve more into the DC Universe.
This is a worthwhile issue yet again, if only for the first story.
