With Comic-Con set to explode today, 20th Century Fox made some major announcements regarding three genre properties.
The Fantastic Four
Chronicle director Josh Trank is aboard the reboot. Despite a number of attachments, it is expected to be his next project.
Daredevil
Director David Slade is off the project because of scheduling issues (he’s directing the pilot to Hannibal). This project is top priority and has to get the film into
production by fall or contractually risk having the the property revert
to Marvel Studios and Disney. There is a script ready to go.
With the studio having already secured their licenses with the X-Men reboot X-Men: First Class, it’s upcoming sequel and director James Mangold’s The Wolverine, it will be interesting if the rumors are true with Fox trying to develop their own shared Marvel Universe.
