This is the best Fantastic Four book in years. I have loved these characters for as long as I can remember, yet in recent years they haven’t been recognizable.
Thankfully, this series exists to show us why we fell in love with these incredible characters in the first place.
This issue takes place in the 1980’s, which is one of my favorite time periods. The creators really have a great handle on that time gone by. They make you feel like you are really there, and there are plenty of great details to be had.
There is an eerie feeling though that starts the book off and permeates throughout. The end of the world might be near. It appears Galactus is making his way to Earth.
There is only one team that could possibly stop him!
We get to see Reed and Sue try desperately to come up with a plan that could stop the incredibly being. This plan involves the Cold War that is currently going on. Things start to become a little dark.
Hopefully the Fantastic Four can solve this problem that is headed their way!
The story by Mark Russell is fast and yes, even funny at times, but it carries a lot of weight. The art by Sean Izaake is spectacular as well. The whole book is excellent, and I think this will end up being a classic.
