We live in strange times when the picks for major DuckTales characters fills you with more hope and joy then the picks for major cabinet positions.
The cast for the upcoming DuckTales reboot was just announced, and goodness, it is glorious. Just glorious.
In a stroke of genius, Disney took a page from the Game of Thrones playbook and allowed fanboys to use their fantasy casting a roster for the upcoming toon.
Here is a look at who’s who for the citizens of Duckburg:
Scrooge McDuck – David Tennant
The former (and possibly one of the best) Doctor Who’s and the uber evil Kilgrave from Jessica Jones will take a dip in the money vault as the patriarch of the Duck clan.
Louie – Bobby Moynihan
The Saturday Night Live staple best known for Drunk Uncle will step in the webbed shoes of the green-loving Louie
Dewey – Ben Schwartz
That’s right. Parks and Rec’s Jean-Ralphio Saperstein will take a break from faking his own death and throwing money into failing startups to voice the brains of the pint-size duck trio, Dewey.
Huey – Danny Pudi
Abed would approve of this casting decision as well as Pudi fills out the role as the main troublemaker of the Donald nephew trio.
Launchpad McQuack – Beck Bennett
Another Saturday Night Live alum, best known for his shirtless, creepy Putin, the comedic actor takes on the voice role of the brave, but slightly dim, pilot who works for McDuck.
Mrs. Beakley – Toks Olagundoye
Best known for her role on Castle, Olagundoye plays the nanny/caretaker of the troublemaking nephews.
Webby – Kate Micucci
The lead singer of Garfunkel and Oates and comedian from The Big Bang Theory lend her high-pitched voice to the granddaughter of Mrs. Beakley.
And here they are singing the theme song!
