This has been a really great comic book!
Writer Peter J. Tomasi has been doing a heck of a job writing this book over the last two years and the book has been amazing. This issue is pretty damn good as well and really is quite inventive. This is the Batman title I personally prefer.
The opening of this book has a Detective Gotts pulling into a self storage place while on a phone call. He gets out of the car and is promptly attacking by some ghoul on a horse! Gotts proclaims that he thought his assailant was dead!
And so, we are off to the races!
Gotts is killed and the next scene is his funeral. Bruce Wayne is at the funeral and he surveys the scene. There are all sorts of suspects that he has in front of him.
Could any of then possibly be the killer?
There is a nice variety of suspects to choose from as well and that makes this issue extra fun.
Bruce becomes Batman and goes about trying to find out who the perpetrator might be.
It is a bunch of fun watching him trying to narrow down the suspects. Batman does eventually comes up again the killer and it is as exciting as can be.
There is one hell of an ending to this as well.
Tomasi writes another solid script with this issue. It is full of twists and turns and it keeps you guessing throughout. The art by Nicola Scott is pretty damn good too.
Tomasi and Scott work well together and this ends up being a fine issue indeed.
