Well, the “Joker War” storyline has spilled into this comic book. I always get a bit leery when books crossover like this. As soon as I got a few pages into reading this however, I didn’t mind in the least.
This is a crossover issue that actually works quite well and is very entertaining.
It is all out war at the beginning of the issue. We get to see Batwoman going to battle with the Joker’s gang. It is an exhilarating scene that starts out the book. The Joker’s gang has some really weird weapons. That is when we find out why that is.
Apparently, the Joker’s gang has gotten their hands on some high tech 3-D printers from Waynetech. They are making weapons like you wouldn’t believe.
My personal favorite is a Joker inspired “Batwing.” I enjoyed seeing that very much as it made me laugh out loud.
Eventually, we see that the Joker’s gang has kidnapped and infected Lucius Fox with madness. We also get to see Batman, Batwoman, and Harvey Bullock getting together to try and formulate a plan.
That is when things really kick into high gear for this comic. It’s pretty great.
This is incredibly entertaining.
Tomasi keeps the story fast and accessible like he always does and the art is pretty damn good. The resolution to the conflict presented here is pretty great. It also leans into the next chapter of this story pretty seamlessly as well.
