This has been an amazing comic book.
Right from the very first issue, Christopher Priest has just been doing an incredible job writing this.
I have to admit that I am very sad that this one is ending. The stories have been the best that has ever been done with this character. And that is really saying something!
The opening sequence is set in the Dark Multiverse. We get to see Deathstroke kill Batman. We then get to see Damian and Wonder Woman together with Slade as a family. It is a dark scene. They talk over Batman’s dead body.
Then, there are more intruders here to deal with Slade!
The Teen Titans show up to fight Slade! That’s right! It is a brutal fight too! Damian and Wonder Woman join the fight and things get absolutely crazy.
Eventually, the battle subsides. Then, Raven does something totally crazy. She removes this Slade from this plane of existence.
We then end up where we were last issue with this Slade facing off against the Deathstroke we all know and love. But instead of fighting, they decide to leave and get some coffee. It is then we see the two of them sitting and talking. Leave it to Priest to come up with such a cool story beat. This is the best scene of the book.
By the end of the issue, these two Deathstrokes eventually do face off. And it is one hell of an action scene. It does have a brutal and gruesome conclusion to this fight and one of these two versions of Slade will not survive.
The ending has a beautifully written and Illustrated coda for the series. It is really nicely done. Priest ends the book much like he began it: On a high note. This is the perfect conclusion to the best comic book run ever on this character.
