The latest storyline with Slade Wilson getting stuck in Arkham Asylum is pretty damn good thus far!
Priest is contributing some of the best stories this character has seen and this is another excellent issue. This comic book has everything you can ask for. It’s fantastic.
After the events of last issue, we see Slade waking up in Arkham Asylum.
A psychiatrist comes in and starts to ask him questions. He tells her he broke out of there with Devon and got abducted by aliens.
The problem, as the psychiatrist tells him, is that Devon doesn’t exist.
So is Slade insane? Well, yes.
But is he mentally gone?
Priest asks the tough questions and doesn’t shy away from the tough answers. It’s refreshing to see in a comic book.
From there we see Joseph dressed up like Deathstroke. He’s scheming away and is making plans. What could he possibly want to do? How does it play into the main story? There’s a lot of plot going on but all of it is clear.
Slade shows the psychiatrist how he escaped. Except there is no proof that Slade is right. He is made to look nuts. But then he remembers a specific clue. This prompts him to scream for a lawyer. “Get me Harvey Dent!”
The issue ends with Deathstroke and Two-Face meeting up and not in the way you expect.
I love this title. What a great job Priest is doing. And I’m a huge fan of Pasarin’s art on this book. We are left with a big cliffhanger at the end. And I cannot wait for more.
