This book is really just a fun and gory time.
I will say, that I am starting to wonder where this is all headed. That being said, I trust the creative team to really take this to where it is going. They haven’t let me down yet and I don’t expect them to here.
This issue definitely demonstrates why a hero should never leave behind someone in need in a very graphic way. I certainly won’t forget it. But I also won’t spoil it. There is certainly a shocking and unforgettable scene in this issue.
Besides that however, the issue shows us Swamp Thing and John Constantine finding a mysterious secret garden on the other side of the planet. They are investigating it as best they can. While they are doing so, the land gives birth to something crazy.
Zatanna senses it. It may be too late for the team however. A huge fight erupts as the heroes are taken by surprise. The results of this battle basically changes the course of this book in a major way. A big story shift is felt by the end for sure.
The story is well done. The artwork is pretty damn good as well. I was on the edge of my seat throughout. The creative team does a truly great job of ratcheting up the tension throughout.
I am still not sure where it is all going but I cannot wait to find out. Hopefully, it is worth it.
