Representation in all media is extremely important and it is great to see DC doing something like this book. It has various stories in it and it is good to see the company taking it all seriously. This is a fine collection of comics.

The first story of this book is a short one. It features the Cassandra Cain Batgirl and it shows a nice new aspect of her character. The ending of this short was a little too cutesy for me, but both the writing and the artwork were very good. It is written by Mariko Tamaki and drawn by Marcus To.

Next up, we have a cool kid Green Lantern story written by Ming Le with art by Trung Le Nguyen. It is well done but way too short.

After that, we get a new story about Connor Hawke and the New Superman written by Greg Pak with art by Sumit Kumar. It is very well written and drawn story and I enjoyed this one very much as well.

Comedian Aniz Ansari writes a story next with art by Sami Basri. It is an entertaining story that is way too short and features the Damian Wayne Robin.

After that, we get a story written by Ram V and drawn by Audrey Mok. That one is a really interesting Catwoman tale that really works well.

Dustin Nguyen writes and draws the next story that is beautiful but only three pages.

There are a few others, but most of the rest don’t really hit. The only one that is really bad is the Outsiders one. The rest are kind of dull but not terrible.

The best story of the book is at the end however. It is written by Gene Luen Yang and it has art by Bernard Chang. It is a Shazam story that introduces the Monkey Prince character. I did enjoy this one very much. It is a nice story to end a really good and important comic like this.

RATING: B+
