Written by Scott Snyder
Art by Greg Capullo
Published by DC Comics
The first issue of this new miniseries was out of it’s mind in a completely delightful way. This issue picks right off where that one left off and takes things even further into some crazy territory.
The dream team of writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo are back at it here and they do an amazing job yet again.
The issue starts off with Wonder Woman and her crew at the Hellscape.
She is trying to figure out a way into Valhalla Cemetery(or the Crypt of Heroes). She is looking for some help in her fight against Perpetua. It is pretty amazing what she happens to find there.
It is the Justice Society of America!
I love the Justice Society and Snyder and Capullo handle them right. We then get a recap of where we are up until this point. And it is great.
Snyder seems to have put an “it all matters” mantra on this book and it is so welcome.
We eventually get over to Castle Bat.
The team there is trying to bring Doctor Manhattan back to life. They seem to almost get it done. Or do they? Things get even more bananas here. By the end, we are introduced to quite possibly the darkest incarnation of the Batman.
It is a pretty frightening last panel. It is also pretty exciting. Snyder and artist Greg Capullo are really going the distance In this book. It is so imaginative and structured and I cannot get enough.
This is insane, sure, but it is insanely wonderful.
