These Death Metal spin-offs have been a hell of a lot of fun.
They have been nice takes on some of the regular comic book characters. I really enjoyed this one as it it probably the most experimental one of them all. It is also the most fun and nutty of all of the one shots thus far.
First off, we get to see Lobo here.
I love and miss Lobo. We see him at a bar at the beginning of the issue. He is drinking and about to cause a fight. That is when he is interrupted by someone that he never thought he would ever come across: Himself.
We get to see him face to face with another version of himself.
This other version refers to himself as the Batman Who Frags. That’s right, Bruce Wayne has injected himself with some Czarnian DNA to enhance his abilities.
And so, well, here we are.
It’s awesome. And it is awesomely funny. Lobo even refers to this Batman as “Frazetta Batman” and “Bat Bastich.” I was laughing out loud. This story is written by Frank Tieri and drawn by Tyler Kirkham and it is outrageously fun.
There are two other stories as well in here.
There is one written by Becky Cloonan and drawn by Rags Morales that is a lot of fun.
There is also one featuring the same characters written by Sam Humphries and drawn by the ever amazing Denys Cowan.
Both add value to an already amazing book. This is pretty great.
