This is another balls to the wall comic book issue by writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo.
They are packing so much in this comic book that it is pretty unbelievable. I liked this issue particularly because it really pushed the story forward while maintaining a high level of action!
The holy Trinity of Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman are trapped within the Nightmare Worlds in the Dark Multiverse at the beginning of the issue. It is completely nuts and enjoyable watching this happen. The whole issue completely threw me off balance and Ioved it.
It feels a bit like being on a roller coaster when you are reading this book.
It starts off with a zombie like Sergeant Rock giving the reader an update on things. It makes it immediately surreal and weird.
We then get to see Batman at the Crisis on Infinite Earths. Wait, what?
Yes, Batman is at that event.
We then get to see multiple Supermen at the Final Crisis event. Except in this reality, Darkseid won.
We also get to see similar events throughout the issue. It isn’t confusing however and the creative team really knocks it out of the park.
The writing by Scott Snyder is excellent here. He does a great job of throwing a bunch of concepts at the reader and making it easily digestible. Artist Greg Capullo is doing the best work of his career and this is pretty great.
Overall, this is an excellent book that does not disappoint!
