Archaia Entertainment has announced a modern adaptation of the classic manga series Cyborg 009.
With issue #58, Hulk will become Red She Hulk, written by Jeff Parker with art by Carlo Pagulayan and Wellinton Alves.
Space: 1999: Aftershock and Awe and Mumbai Confidential are the first two titles that Archaia Entertainment is releasing digitally via Comixology before their hardcover print editions.
Brian Wood, Carlos d’Anda and Alex Ross have been announced as the creative team for a new ongoing Star Wars series set between the original film and The Empire Strikes Back that will launch from Dark Horse in January 2013. According to Wood, “My plan is to pretend that nothing else exists other than A New Hope. At least in the minds of the characters. The fact the reader knows so much, especially things the characters don’t just yet — such as Luke and Leia being related, Vader as their father, et cetera — makes for some fun writing. I love Empire, and maybe in the future I’ll catch up to that film story-wise, but for right now I’m enjoying this beautiful moment in time, starting literally days after the Battle of Yavin when everything is set up and the future is wide open.”
This October, KaBOOM! will launch Bravest Warriors, based on the new Pendleton Ward (Adventure Time) cartoon, written by Joey Comeau and drawn by Mike Holmes. Join Chris, Wallow, Beth and Danny, four 16-year-old heroes-for-hire, as they warp from galaxy to galaxy, saving alien races with the power of their…emotions. They’re noble, righteous and totally bodacious!
The Shadow, Green Hornet, Kato, Zorro, The Spider, Miss Fury, The Black Bat and More are all featured in Masks, the Dynamite Entertainment cross-over featuring the top pulp heroes of all time. Written by Chris Roberson with the first issue painted by Alex Ross. ‘It’s 1938, and the Justice Party has swept into office in New York State. But the newly-elected officials are in the control of powerful criminals, who quickly corrupt the law to their own advantage. When a fascist police state is instituted, the only ones who stand in defense of the innocent are masked vigilantes like the Shadow, the Green Hornet, Kato, and the Spider. When the law is unjust, justice must be an outlaw…”
