The Bullet is Back!

Publisher Jim Lee revealed that DC’s classic “bullet” logo is returning in a big way. Some of you might remember the bullet, which served as DC’s official logo from 1976 through 2005.

Along with returning to all of DC’s comics starting in October, the bullet, which was designed by Milton Glaser, will also be the official logo for DC Studios. And that’s just the beginning.

Over the months ahead, you’ll see the logo show up on everything DC touches, including all of your favorite toys, games and collectibles.

Marvel

The majority of the Marvel News came from Hall H, where Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige was on hand to share some details from their upcoming slate.

Captain America: Brave New World

Anthony Mackie took the stage with Tim Blake Nelson, Danny Ramirez, and Giancarlo Esposito, who confirmed that he is playing Seth Voelker, aka Sidewinder, the leader of the notorious Serpent Society.  The latest trailer was shown and that up and coming actor Harrison Ford who takes over “Thunderbolt” Ross from the late William Hurt also stepped on to the stage to greet the audience.

Fantastic Four: First Steps

Director Matt Shakman was joined onstage by stars Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm/The Thing), and Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm/The Human Torch).

According to Shakman, “Our movie is set in the ’60s, kind of a retro-future ’60s, and it’s a lot about the space race and about voyaging out there. So First Steps is partly to do with that idea about exploration.” The film also stars Julia Garner as the Silver Surfer; Ralph Ineson as Galactus; and Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, and Natasha Lyonne in undisclosed roles.

Thunderbolts*

David Harbour made an appearance in costume as Red Guardian as the ensemble took to the stage including Director Jake Schreier and cast members Geraldine Viswanathan (rumored to be playing Songbird), Lewis Pullman (rumored to be playing Sentry), Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost), Wyatt Russell (U.S. Agent), Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Valentina Allegra de Fontaine), Florence Pugh (Black Widow), and Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes). Also appearing in the film Olga Kurylenko (Taskmaster), and rumored Harrison Ford (“Thunderbolt” Ross), Laurence Fishburne (Bill Foster) and Rachel Weisz (Melina Vostokoff).

Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars

The biggest news came when Feige introduced the Russo Brothers who are returning to the studio to direct the two upcoming Avengers films.  Also announced was the casting of Robert Downey, Jr. as Doctor Doom (replacing Jonathan Major’s Kang).
