Cine-Geek Nuggets:
Superman and Batman Together!, Cabin Fever Prequel, A Fighter Reunion And More!

Channing Tatum might play Superman opposite Will Arnett‘s Batman for directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller in the upcoming live-action/animated film,  Lego: The Piece of ResistanceChris Pratt will voice Emmet, “an ordinary,
law-abiding, rules-following, perfectly average Lego mini-figure who is
mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary MasterBuilder. He is
drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil
tyrant from gluing the universe together, a journey for which Emmet is
hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.”  Other cameos to watch for include Yoda and Indiana Jones.

Sean Astin, Brando Eaton and Ben Hollingsworth will star in Cabin Fever: Patient Zero, directed by Kaare Andrews.  The film, which will be a prequel to Eli Roth‘s original film will focus on a flesh eating virus which is unleashed when a cruise ship runs ashore on a research island containing the disease.

James Marsden will play a naval commander in Universal’s Two Guns opposite Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington.  “Pic stars Wahlberg and Denzel Washington as a Navy SEAL and a DEA agent, respectively, who work together despite not knowing that the each is doing so undercover. When the duo steal millions from the CIA, they discover double-crossing associates who will do anything to retrieve the money.”




Will Poulter will play a teen that Jason Sudeikis’ character pretends is his son to use to help him smuggle drugs in We’re The Millers.  The film also stars Jennifer Aniston.

The Ashton Kutcher-Steve Jobs bio-pic iJOBS has added Ron Eldard, John Getz, Lesley Ann Warren and James Woods to the cast.  “Eldard will play Apple designer Rod Holt, while Getz and Warren play Jobs’ adoptive parents. Woods will portray Jack Dudman, Jobs’ former dean of students at Reed College in Oregon.”

Hugo Weaving has joined the cast of Aussie thriller Mystery Road portraying a cop with questionable motives for writer-director Ivan SenAaron Pedersen plays the lead, an indigenous detective who returns
home to an Outback town to solve the murder of a teenage indigenous
girl.  True Blood‘s Ryan Kwanten also co-stars.

David O. Russell will direct American Bullshit, reuniting The Fighter co-stars Christian Bale and Amy Adams. The film will, “dramatize the true story of the FBI’s 1980 undercover sting operation of
Congress, dubbed “Abscam,” to root out corruption which was the
brainchild of the world’s greatest conman. Christian Bale will play
conman, Mel Weinberg with Bradley Cooper attached to play
one of the FBI agents assigned to capture Weinberg. Adams would play Weinberg’s partner in crime and potential
love interest.”

Catherine Keener will star opposite Mark Ruffalo and Keira Knightley in writer-director John Carney‘s Can A Song Save Your Life?  “Keener will play the estranged wife of Ruffalo’s down-on-his-luck music producer character.”
