Cine-Geek Nuggets:
How To Train Your Dragon 2, Paranoia, Plus Jon Hamm Might Destroy Larry David & More!

Peter Berg will direct Father’s Day, an adaptation of the non-fiction book by his cousin Buzz Bissinger (Friday Night Lights). The story centers around Bissinger’s “relationship with his twins, one of whom has serious intellectual handicaps.”  The story chronicles a father and son road trip which became a personal journey that resulted in Bissinger better understanding his son.

Freddy Rodriguez is the latest actor to join the swelling cast of CBGB.  Rodriguez will play, “one of the film’s leading roles, “Idaho,” an addict who hung around Hily Kristal’s infamous New York City club in the 1970s.”

Kit Harrington, who plays Jon Snow on HBO’s Game of Thrones, will voice a villainous warrior in the upcoming sequel, How To Train Your Dragon 2 opposite returning cast members Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, T.J. Miller, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Kristen Wiig.

James Bobin will direct Agent Zigzag for New Line and Playtone Pictures.  The espionage story, based on the novel by Ben Macintyre revolves around the true story of Eddie Chapman, a professional criminal who won the trust of German intelligence services during WWII even as he reported back to the spymasters of Britain’s MI5.  It is unclear if this will be his next project or if it will be the previously announced The Muppets 2.

Amber Heard will co-star opposite Liam Hemsworth in the corporate thriller, Paranoia, which also stars Harrison Ford, Gary Oldman and Lucas Till.  “Hemsworth stars as a blue-collar guy who makes a costly and illegal mistake while trying to get ahead in his entry-level job. His boss agrees not to turn him in under one condition: he must infiltrate the competition as a corporate spy. Protag quickly learns that he’s a pawn in his boss’ game.  Heard is making a deal to play Hemsworth’s love interest, an intended one-night-stand who becomes the key to his success as a spy when he learns that she works at the rival company.”

Martin Scorsese‘s The Wolf of Wall Street has cast two more actors.  Margot Robbie will play the second wife of Leonardo DiCaprio‘s character and Jon Bernthal will portray a drug dealer and money launderer in the film.

Cloud Atlas, the adaptation of David Mitchell’s novel directed by Lana Wachowski, Tom Tykwer and Andy Wachowski will be released on Octobert 26th.  The cast includes Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Susan Sarandon, Keith David, Jim Broadbent, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, Doona Bae, Ben Whishaw, James D’Arcy and Zhou Xun.

Jon Hamm might prove to be Larry David‘s ultimate nemesis. The actor is in talks to join director Greg Motolla‘s improv heavy project which will be similar to Curb Your Enthusiasm, but with David playing a different, albeit, similar character.
