‘Batman: Last Knight On Earth #3’ (review)

Written by Scott Snyder
Art by Greg Capullo
Published by DC Comics

This book marks the last time Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo are supposed to work on a Batman title. While that is certainly some sad news, I have to say that I am blown away by this issue. It is everything that I could hope for and maybe a little more. Snyder and Capullo have done it one more time and this is a completely excellent final issue.

This last issue begins with the traditional scene of Batman and Commissioner Gordon on a rooftop having a meeting. They have one more traditional meeting and it is very sad and poignant even. But there is something very different going on. It is something that is pretty much affecting everything.

Gotham City has been remade into an apocalyptic setting. The Omega character has won! The only one that can stop Omega is Batman. But is he strong enough to stop this villain? Or is everything going to go to hell in a hand basket?

This is Snyder and Capullo at their best. Batman desperately forms an army to fight back!

He gets ready for the biggest fight of his life. He is desperately trying to fight back against the end. There is a lot of heavy drama in the beginning and it is pretty damn perfect.

Then, all hell breaks loose. It is a pretty spectacular sight to behold. I don’t want to spoil the end, but it is pretty amazing. Snyder and Capullo are firing on all cylinders and have given us the best Batbook of their lives.

Capullo’s art is especially amazing here. These two have had an amazing time on Batman. You honestly couldn’t ask for a better ending. It really is the perfect end that Snyder and Capullo have created. Kudos, gentlemen.

RATING: A
