It has been a great run on this title for writer Dan Jurgens.
In fact, this is the most solid run in comics that this character has ever received. This latest storyline has been pretty great as well. It has been fast paced and has had a lot of various twists and turns as well.
The issue starts out years from now in the Himalayas. We get to see a villain trying to pick up and honor where Ra’s al Ghul left off. He has a bunch of followers there too. You know it is only a matter of time before he comes up against the Batman.
We then cut to future Gotham. Terry is in the Batsuit again and all is right in the world. He doesn’t have long to celebrate however, as he is immediately thrown into conflict.
Things get off to a truly rousing start!
In the middle of all this, we get to see Bruce and Matt talk about moving into the city. It is a nice dramatic scene that does drag a bit. Luckily, when the action starts again, it gets crazy! Goliath comes into the mix eventually and that’s when things really take off.
The end of the issue has a cool cliffhanger.
There is a character from the main Batman books that appears and it is just awesome. We are left with an ending that I can’t wait to see how it is resolved.
Jurgens and artist Sean Chen have done a solid job again here, and this is a good start for a new storyline.
