The first issue of this comic was a good set up for this series. It was an interesting story and had some pretty good artwork. This second issue is decent as well and picks right up the last issue left off. This is a fun, apocalyptic fantasy series with a lot of heart.
The book starts us off with Lottie Thorn continuing her training.
Lottie has learned that she is a champion. But she has no idea how deep this goes or even how to wield her newly found power. That is why she is being trained by the best in the business:
A character named Peruvia.
Peruvia is a trainer that proclaims to do things “by the book.” The training scenes themselves are enjoyable and witty.
Concerned about Lottie being the champion, Peruvia goes to consult the Guardians on this. Is Lottie going to mess this all up?
Well, it seems that may be possible!
While Peruvia is away, Lottie decides to go for a walk. She comes across a construction site. It seems rather suspicious.
She decides to investigate it a bit further. Could there be something sinister at play?
Of course there is.
And it is extremely entertaining. Writer Mariah McCourt does a great job on the script. The dialogue is great and the story is enjoyable. The art by Soo Lee is good too and it is very expressive.
All in all, this is an enjoyable second issue in a decent series!
