‘American Vampire 1976  #6’ (review)

Written by Scott Snyder
Art by Rafael Albuquerque
Published by DC Comics

I am loving the direction this series has taken!

Writer Scott Snyder and artist Rafael Albuquerque have done a truly amazing job with this book. It is definitely my favorite series of American Vampire to come out thus far.

This issue has a big secret that is revealed.

Skinner and his team learn about a secret sacrifice that needs to be performed to basically save the world. This sacrifice is the only thing that can help them obtain the Blood of Light.

Otherwise, the world is in deep trouble.

The Blood of Light is the only thing that is capable of stopping the terrifying Beast to kill humanity and take over the entire world.

They they have to make sure that this sacrifice happens or everyone is in for a hell of a lot of trouble.

So, they go about doing just that.

Things start to fall apart.

The group’s trust in one another takes a huge hit. There is a huge betrayal that happens that I did not see coming.

The stage starts being set in this issue for the last act of this series. It looks like these characters are in for one hell of a time.

Scott Snyder writes one heck of script with this issue. This is probably the most intense chapter that this series ever had and it is exhilarating at points.  The art by Rafael Albuquerque is great too, and his work only ever seems to get better.

This is a fine comic book indeed. Well done.

RATING: A
