Writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson continues with his extraordinary run writing this comic book series.

The plots are utterly spectacular and the characterizations are pretty perfect. I love what he is doing with the line of books and I am as excited as can be as to what is coming.

This book relates to the Death Metal book that finished up a few months ago.

It seems like Superman’s powers are changing.

It seems like he might actually be getting weaker. The fight he just had with the creatures of the Breach proved that.

Well, Clark needs to do something drastic about it all.

That is when Mongul shows up. That’s right, he shows up with his warships. He is getting ready to attack the Earth.

Of course, this looks like a job for Superman. But is he in any shape to actually do something about it? Or, is the earth and everyone on it about to meet a horrible fate?

The writing on this is just excellent. Johnson ties In his Future State Superman  title into this and there seems a lot to look forward to. The artwork by Daniel Sampere is pretty damn good as well. The lead story is just excellent.

The backup featuring the Midnighter isn’t too shabby either.

This also ties into the Future State titles. Apparently, the present day Midnighter traded places with the other Midnighter from Future State. And they must change places or all might be lost. Becky Cloonan and Michael Conrad write a good story with some great art by Michael Avon Oeming.

Overall, this is a great book, jam packed with good comics, stories and art.

RATING: A
