‘Batman/Superman #22’ (review)

Written by Gene Luen Yang
Art by Paul Pelletier, Ivan Reis
Published by DC Comics

Well, this is the last issue of this series.

That is a real shame too. I feel like we were finally getting somewhere with this. The last few issues have been pretty good and it seems like there was a bigger plan forming.

Alas, maybe those threads of story will continue elsewhere.

The Calendar Man has been resurrected and is causing a bit of mayhem. We get to see a bit of his plans in motion and it is all very creative. I have to say that I really enjoyed the beginning of this book very much.

Then, Batman and Superman get involved.

We see that it is all a part of a bigger plan by Mr. Myxzptlk that the Calendar Man is a part of! We get to see what that is. The dynamic duo then have to try and take him down.

Batman and Superman have a tough time with it all. They then do the only thing that they can think of.

They turn to get some unexpected help.  But will make any difference?

Or is the universe doomed forever?

The writing is a lot of fun. Yang does a great job here keeping it all light but still interesting. The art by Pelletier isn’t my favorite but it isn’t bad. This is a nice last issue of this series.

RATING: B
