‘Batman/Superman #21’ (review)

Written by Gene Luen Yang
Art by Ivan Reis
Published by DC Comics

I have to say that I have been enjoying this comic book very much. It is almost a shame that it is being cancelled next issue as I feel the latest creative team has really made this book pick up. It is a bit of a shame, but these things happen.

The storyline that has been going on the last few issues starts to end here. This book has been all over the universe and beyond. Batman and Superman have been racing against time to stop the villain at the heart of all of this chaos.

They are on Earth-0 going up against the Auteur.

The problem being is that this villain will not go down without a fight. That means an all out battle royals happens with many colorful characters from the DC Universe caught up in it all.

This whole thing leads to a very exciting ending.

I honestly found it a little but predictable. That being said, the execution is so well done that I didn’t mind in the least. The whole thing worked and I loved where we ended up.

The story by Yang is very good and focused. It has a nice flavor to it and the dialogue is very good. I loved the art by Ivan Reis. Reis is one of the best artists in the field and proves that again here.

Overall, this is an entertaining read once again.

RATING: B+
