‘Second Coming: Only Begotten Son #3’ (review)

Written by Mark Russell
Art by Richard Pace, Leonard Kirk
Published by Ahoy Comics

This is still one of the coolest comic books out there.

The creative team really pushes the story to the limit and I love where they take us. This is a worthy sequel to the original series. This issue is pretty damn good as well.

The series has many things and themes going on.

The biggest one that I can relate to is how Sunstar handles the idea of being a parent.

It is full of a man’s fears and anxieties that a lot of people go through. It is very relatable.

We also get to see a CEO of a company trying to pull Jesus into his corporation. Jesus is tempted by this and that becomes a very hard thing for him to deal with. Can he avoid the temptation of is all going to be lost?

There is also an ancient relic that threatens the destruction of everything. Things start to look really bad for everyone. Can our two heroes get out of their own predicaments to try and save the entire world? Or will all be lost?

Mark Russell writes some of the best dialogue in the business. This issue is funny as always and pointed. Richard Pace once again proves he is not only an amazing artist, but a superior storyteller.

This is another fine issue of this series and the storyline is only getting better!
