This comic has been truly quite excellent.
I am not the biggest fan of anthology comics. That being said, this is quite fun and well done and the stories and artwork have been been great! I love where this series has been taking us.
Writer Chip Zdarksy and artists Eddy Barrows and Jesús Merino have the first story of the book here and it is the continuing story of the Red Hood and Batman. This time, the pair discuss what to do about a child who has suffered because of the Red Hood’s temper. This is nicely written and drawn.
The next story is a one off about Lady Shiva. She has a confrontation with the Batman. That’s pretty much the entire story, watching the two of them go back and forth but it is incredibly compelling and well done. Writer Che Grayson and artist Alberto Jimenez Albuquerque do a spot on job with this story.
Next up we have a story about The Outsiders. It is fairly well done but it is my least favorite in the book. The Outsiders face off against Katana’s mother in law. It is capably written by Brandon Thomas and has decent art by Max Dunbar, but it doesn’t really go anywhere.
Finally, we have the awesome Grifter story written by Matthew Rosenberg with awesome artwork by Ryan Benjamin. The Grifter stumbles across some trouble and he might be assassinated. Can he survive? And what is he going to do when Batman gets involved? This is a fun story with some great art.
Overall, the whole book is worthwhile, and it is better than most anthologies out there.
