This comic book has taken a bit of a crazy turn these past few issues with this new creative team.
I have to be honest, I am completely loving it. It has been a pretty interesting change of pace and I am liking the places that they are both taking the story.
Batman and Superman have faced many villains in their time together. They have teamed up and faced down some pretty incredible foes.
Yet, nothing in their previous experience could have prepared them for their current battle against the deadly Auteur.
We get to see a bit how deadly this Auteur character really is.
We also start to see where this being came from. To do that, we are taken to outer space to learn his origins. The issue is, this Auteur has a power source that is seemingly unbeatable.
The dynamic duo, however, need to figure out what this power source actually is. If they do so, they finally have a chance to defeat this Auteur. They had better hurry up though as everything around them is starting to fall apart!
The story by Yang is pretty great. He has a great handle on these characters and proves that with each page. The art by Ivan Reis is tops as well. He is one of the best in the field and shows us that again here.
All in all, this is a solid and entertaining book.
